Apply directly to Deakin College
You can apply directly to Deakin College if:
You are applying for a Deakin College course that begins in June or October.
You are applying for a Deakin College course that starts in March and are not currently studying a standard Australian Year 12 curriculum.
You are applying for a Deakin College course that starts in March but the VTAC Change of Preference rounds have closed.
Apply through VTAC
When to apply through VTAC
For the March intake only, Australian students studying Year 12 should apply through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC). Online VTAC applications open in August for students starting in the following year.
Are you eligible to apply through VTAC?
You can apply through VTAC if you are:
- an Australian citizen
- an Australian permanent resident
- a New Zealand citizen
VTAC Change of Preference
We understand that the Change of Preference period can be a stressful time for both students and parents.
For further information about changing your preferences in VTAC, visit our Change of Preference page and come along to one of our Change of Preference events. These sessions will provide information as to how Deakin College is your direct pathway to Deakin University.

When applying through VTAC, you will need to enter a VTAC Course Code. Your VTAC course code will reflect your diploma at Deakin College and your destination degree at Deakin University.
